The 11th edition of the 7 Portes Sopars Lírics has once again filled Barcelona’s nights with great opera, fine cuisine, and emerging talent. This season, under the motto “Two generations, one passion”, introduced an innovative format that was warmly welcomed by the audience: each dinner paired a professional singer with a young lyrical talent, sharing the stage in an artistic experience full of talent and emotion. The result? Three evenings brimming with energy, connection, and unforgettable moments.

At the first event, soprano Tabita Ester Martínez and rising tenor Óscar Encinas performed pieces by Mozart, Donizetti, Gounod, Massenet, and Verdi. The second evening featured baritone Carlos Varela—one of the most promising new voices—alongside tenor Beñat Egiarte, with a repertoire that included works by Mozart, Puccini, Donizetti, Sorozábal, and Torroba. Finally, professional soprano María Patak closed the season with baritone Guillem Batllori, showcasing her vocal quality with pieces by Bellini, Donizetti, and Gounod, among others. All three young singers demonstrated not only excellent technique but also a sensitivity that makes them stand out in today’s operatic scene.

As always, the audience enjoyed specially curated menus for the occasion, blending seasonal dishes with the classic cuisine of 7 Portes, while voices filled the restaurant’s halls. The artistic direction was led by music critic Jordi Maddaleno, with piano accompaniment by Josep Buforn, a key figure in the Catalan lyrical scene.

This 11th edition once again proved that the 7 Portes Sopars Lírics are much more than a concert or a fine meal: they are a complete cultural experience, supporting new talent and bringing opera up close and personal. A proposal that, year after year, keeps alive the spirit of a restaurant that has always embraced music, culture, and shared emotions as part of its identity.
